Effective claims management and defense starts with timely and thorough incident investigation, response, and reporting. Legitimate claims are paid promptly, we investigate and aggressively defend against questionable claims.

INVESTIGATES AND AGGRESSIVELY DEFENDS AGAINST QUESTIONABLE CLAIMS

NHRMA Mutual members work directly with their claims adjuster throughout the entire claims process to manage their workers’ compensation claims. Our members are an integral element in effective claims management and are kept apprised of the status of each claim.

As a NHRMA member, you are involved in the following claims decisions:

  • Compensability
  • Case management
  • Surveillance
  • Alternative duty
  • Settlement authority

Our claims adjusters will review the initial claim incident report and investigation from both a legal and medical perspective. When needed, we assign legal defense to a firm from our extensive, approved defense panel, and we coordinate the defense strategy for the best possible outcome for our members. Our claims adjuster will also work with the loss control team member who has been assigned to your organization and will notify him/her of risk situations that may need to be addressed to reduce your total cost of risk.
